About the Beagle
The Beagle is a loyal companion and hunting dog. Donnie started hunting with his Beagles as a young boy. He hunted Beagles with his good friends and hearing their voices open up as the hapless rabbit ran in circles brought him lots of joy growing up. Donnie still loves to take the beagles out hunting but is content to sit with a cup of coffee and just listen to the dogs have fun doing what nature put in them to do.
Our first show Beagle was Baums Blue Brave (Trapper) He taught us a lot about showing. His first APRI sanctioned show he was a nervous wreck but won the whole show. From there on out we have updated and bred our way up the ladder and now have Championed two AKC dogs with others being pointed.
We have shown in APRI and International All Breed Canine Association with several Champions, Prominent Champions, International Champions.
Beagles come in two varieties, the 13 inch and under and the 15 inch. Beagles also come in many pleasing colors, lemon, Tri color, red and white, with some blue and lilac occurring in some bloodlines.
The beagles fortune is it’s big brown or hazel eyes set off by long houndy ears set low on a broad head. The breed is called “Merry” by the dog world fancy and that they are!
Beagles are loving, happy and companionable with not many health concerns, all qualities that make them an excellent family pet. For years the Beagle has been America’s number one hound breed in popularity. They adapt to both apartment life and farm life alike, so whether you are looking for a family pet, show dog, or hunting companion we can help you!
